This drawing depicts a scene at the Cratchit house during Ebenezer Scrooge’s visit with the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, revealing that Tiny Tim has died — his personal belongings set aside in a corner of the house, a quiet, devastating detail in one of the book’s most poignant passages.

This original charcoal drawing is part of the illustrated edition of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, a project that began after Mario Jodra was awarded the 5th Edelvives International Illustration Prize. Following this recognition, Edelvives commissioned him to create the illustrations for its new edition of the book, published in 2025 with a translation by Alejandro Tobar. The edition offers a new visual, expressive and socially engaged interpretation of Dickens’s characters and settings, with particular attention to social contrasts and Ebenezer Scrooge’s inner transformation. Original artwork, signed by hand, accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity and available directly from the artist’s studio.
